Art on the Oasis

On March 5-7, 2021, Colby Community College hosted the Art on the Oasis art show at the college. The art show featured artwork by amateur and professional artists as well as high school students. This show included artists from Eastern Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Friday, March 5th, was the opening night and gala which included food, drink, and music. The public was able to view the show and had the opportunity to purchase art at this event. Saturday, March 6th, and Sunday, March 7th, the exhibition was open to the public.
This was Hoxie High School’s third year entering the show. Senior Morgan Keith’s paper mache sculpture titled Chicken Little, and sophomore Morgan Jones’ acrylic painting titled Cow, were awarded with “Judge Merit” medals. Freshman Mireya Villa’s paper mache sculpture titled Larry the Giraffe placed third in the high school sculpture and clay division. Villa was awarded with a medal and a small cash reward.
