2026 U.S. NASAO's Youth Aviation Art Contest
For several years, Mrs. Jackie Campbell’s art students have been assigned to enter one art-related contest for the school year; one of the options is the NASAO aviation contest. For this competition, students were asked to illustrate the importance of aviation and to represent the theme “Fly to Save Lives.” The finished entries were mailed to the Kansas Department of Transportation in Topeka for judging in three separate age classes. On April 17, 2026, Hoxie High School senior Kyra Reuber placed third in the Senior Division (ages 14-17) at the national level. She had a visual of a helicopter saving someone from a forest fire. Kyra was awarded a bronze trophy, and her artwork advanced to the international judging round at the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, where it competed against artists from around the world. After the award ceremony, the winners toured the Combat Air Museum in Topeka, KS, and got to partake in the virtual flight simulator. Congratulations, Kyra and good luck at the international level!
