Hoxie Ends Their Season at Substate Volleyball

The Hoxie volleyball team traveled to Oakley on Saturday, October 24, for substate. The Hoxie Indians first had to beat Oakley to advance to the sub-state finals. The girls came out strong in the first set, winning it with a final score of 25-20. Coming into the second set, the Hoxie Indians fell short, and Oakley won with a score of 8-25. In the third set, the Lady Indians had a hard time getting back up; the final score was 16-25, with Oakley moving forward into the substate championship match.
 The Hoxie Indians volleyball team had a successful year, going 20-18 for the 2026 season. "We didn’t make it as far as we wanted, but it was a fun season,” said senior Emma Schamberger. “It's hard knowing that I will never play with those girls again, but I’m excited to see what they can do next year!” Freshman Gaby Schamberger added, “It was a fun season, and I got to know a lot of the girls on the team. I'm going to miss the seniors next year, and even though we didn't make it to state, I think we made a good bond together and still had fun. I'm excited to play next year and to see how far the team will go.”
