Hoxie Track Renovation
Mammoth Sports Construction to Lead Major Sports Facility Renovation at Hoxie High School
Mammoth Sports Construction is proud to partner with Hoxie High School to deliver a comprehensive renovation of the school’s athletic facilities, aimed at enhancing performance, safety, and the overall experience for Hoxie’s student-athletes and their community.
The project will feature a full demolition and rebuild of the school’s existing track, including a strategic relocation of the start and finish lines to the home side stands, improving visibility and engagement for fans. Construction is scheduled to begin in July, with completion expected at the end of October.
Key upgrades include:
• New East D-Zone: A dedicated area for high jump and javelin events, designed to meet modern athletic standards.
• Storm Water Drainage Improvements: Critical infrastructure updates to resolve long-standing drainage issues around the track and field, ensuring durability and safety.
• West Grass D-Zone Enhancements: Installation of new long jump and triple jump facilities, providing athletes with state-of-the-art surfaces for training and competition.
• High Jump Area Transformation: The existing high jump zone will be resurfaced and repurposed into a pole vault area, complete with a new runway.
• Sports Lighting & Perimeter Fencing: Installation of new sports lighting for extended usability and black vinyl perimeter fencing to enhance security and aesthetics.
• Sidewalk: A new perimeter sidewalk will be added along the track, improving accessibility and pedestrian flow.
The work is being led by Hoxie High School Alumnus, Charlie Ochs, who now serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Mammoth.
“Getting to work with Hoxie is a full-circle moment for me,” said Ochs. “This renovation is about more than just infrastructure—it’s about investing in the future of student-athletes and creating a space the entire community can be proud of. I am honored to be able to give back to a community that has given me so much.”
This much-needed improvement project will enhance the safety, usability, and longevity of our track, benefiting students, athletes, and community members for years to come. We plan to make this possible through fundraising efforts, along with a strategically planned lease purchase agreement, and we are proud to move forward without relying solely on district or taxpayer funding.
