First and Last Name: Hannah Eller What are your plans after high school? If college, what college and what do you plan on majoring in? I plan on attending Fort Hays State University. I will be studying Secondary Education with a focus in English/Language Arts (this means I will be a Jr-Sr high English teacher). What is your favorite school subject? English What person (other than your parents) has had the greatest influence on you and why? Leah Heskett, our Jr High Social Studies teacher. I was able to take Mrs. Heskett's Teaching as a Profession class last year and she truly influenced me to decide to go into teaching. I've interned for her this year, and I am constantly inspired by her love for her students and her profession. What is your favorite memory during high school so far? My favorite memory would be the State Music Contest my Sophomore year (2019). That year, I was able to be a part of a vocal ensemble and a clarinet trio that played at the state level. Contest is in Salina, so the kids who were able to go got to make a trip out of it and stay the night in Salina. Not only was it fun to spend that time with my friends, it was also an amazing experience to see my friends and myself accomplish high ratings at the state contest. What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far? Growing into the person I'm becoming and being able to truly see my future start to take shape. What is some advice you would give to underclassmen? Don't rush. You'll grow up soon enough. Enjoy the moment you're in and don't keep looking forward to the next. My mom has told me my whole life "don't wish your life away"--and I didn't truly realize what she meant until my senior year. What extracurricular activities have you been involved in? (list # of years) Senior Internship Program - This year; National Honor Society - This year; Scholar's Bowl - 2 years; School Play - 2 years; FCCLA - 4 years; HHS Band - 4 years; HHS Choir - 4 years; Pop's Choir - 2 years; Cheerleading - 2 years Where do you see yourself in ten years? In ten years, I see myself teaching in Small Town, Kansas. I also hope to have a family of my own by that time in my life. What will you miss the most about HHS? I will miss the support of my peers and the community.
