SCHOLARSHIPS
Baker University Scholarships: The counseling office has received scholarship information from Baker University. For more information, stop by the counseling office.
Kansas State University Fine Arts Scholarships: The counseling office has received information about scholarships in the areas of Art, Dance, Music and Theatre. For more information, see the poster on the bulletin board outside the counseling office.
The American Legion Scholarships: The American Legion will again offer several scholarships to graduating seniors. Stop by the counseling office to look at the list of scholarships available and the eligibility criteria for each scholarship.
Academy of Hair Design Scholarships: The Academy of Hair Design in Salina will award three scholarships to Hoxie graduates who plan on attending their institution. If interested in these scholarships, please stop by the counseling office.
2006 Garvey Competitive Scholarship Program: Washburn University will again award 45 scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 to graduating seniors based upon the Garvey Scholarship Exam given on December 1 and 6 in Topeka and December 2 in Hays. To be eligible for the exam, you must have a 3.0 GPA and plan on attending Washburn University in the Fall of 2007. For more information, visit www.washburn.edu/admissions. SAE Engineering Scholarships: The Society of Automotive Engineers is offering a variety of engineering scholarships to graduating seniors who are planning on majoring in an engineering field. If you are interested in applying for these scholarships, information and applications can be obtained on-line at http://www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm or in the counseling office. Application Deadline is December 1, 2006.
2007-08 Washburn Leadership Scholarship: Washburn University will be offering these scholarships to incoming freshmen that plan to participate in Washburn’s Leadership Studies Certificate Program. To be eligible, you must have a 3.5 GPA and an ACT composite of 26 or higher. For an application, stop by the counseling office. Application Deadline is December 15, 2006.
AXA Achievement Scholarships: The AXA Foundation will be awarding 52 scholarships to graduating seniors who are well-rounded students determined to do their personal best and have demonstrated achievement in school and community activities. K-State Civic Leadership Scholarships: KSU will offer three Civic Leadership Scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $2,000. To qualify for these scholarship, you must be admitted to KSU and have demonstrated an exemplary record of community service. Creative and Performing Arts Scholarships: The Department of Art and Design at Ku will again offer these $3,000 scholarships to incoming freshmen. To qualify for these scholarships, you must have a 3.0 GPA, rank in the top 20% of your class and have an ACT composite of 22 or higher. For more information, see Mr. Weiner. Application Deadline is January 10, 2007.
Elks “Most Valuable Student” Scholarship: The counseling office has received the application forms for this scholarship program. If interested in applying, stop by the counseling office or download the application from www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm. Application Deadline is January 12, 2007.
Elks “The Legacy Awards” Scholarship: Applications forms and eligibility requirements for the Legacy Awards can be found on the following website: www.elks.org/enf/scholars/legacy.cfm. Application Deadline is January 12, 2007.
2007 Sam Walton Community Scholarship: This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded by a local Wal-Mart store to a graduating senior. Starting November 1this scholarship will be available at www.walmartfoundation.org. To gain access to the application you will need the following access code SWCS. Application Deadline is January 12, 2007.
ESA Foundation Scholarships: The counseling office has received the ESA 2007 Academic Scholarships. These scholarships range from $500 to $1,000. Stop by the counseling office to pick up an application. Application Deadline is February 1, 2007.
Washburn University Music Scholarships: The Music Department at Washburn University will be holding its music scholarship auditions on February 2 & 10, 2007. For more information, call (785) 670-1511 or visit www.washburn.edu/music.
Humanities/Fine Arts Scholarship Auditions at Butler Community College in El Dorado, KS will be held on February 3 and March 2, 2007. For more information, stop by the counseling office.
Kansas Vocational Education Scholarship Program: This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to students who plan to attend a vocational school/college. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must take the vocational scholarship test on March 3, 2007. See Mr. Weiner for more information. Registration Deadline is February 5, 2007
Access to Education Scholarships: USAFunds will again offer these $1,500 scholarships students who plan to enroll in post-secondary education. To qualify, the student must be from a household with an annual income of $35,000 or less. For more information and to submit the on-line application, visit www.usafunds.org/scholarship Between December 15, 2006 and February 15, 2007. Application Deadline is February 15, 2007.
National Undergraduate Scholarship will be offered to non-resident students who attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. This is a renewable $5,000 scholarship for non-resident students who meet the qualifications. For more information, stop by Mr. Weiner’s office. Application Deadline is March 1, 2007.
Foundation Scholarships at Cloud County Community College: CCCC announces that the 2007-08 Foundation Scholarships are now available on-line at www.cloud.edu. Select Prospective students click Admissions. At the admissions page, select Scholarships and then select #2: Foundation Scholarships. This will provide a list of all the CCCC Foundation Scholarships. Application Deadline is April 1, 2007.
Kansas Masonic Foundation will be sponsoring its annual Student Loan Program. For more information on this program, stop by the counseling office. Application Deadline is April 16, 2007.

SENIOR/VISITATION DAYS/IMPORTANT DATES
Cowley Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas will host its Senior Day on November 16. For more information, call 620-442-0430.
KU Senior Days: The counseling office has received registration forms for the KU Senior Days. For more information on these Senior Days, stop by the counseling office. Registration forms can be picked up in the counseling office or register on-line at www.admissions.ku.edu/seniordays.
Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina will host its Senior Day on Friday, February 16. For more information, call 800-874-1154 ext. 1285.
Ichabod Senior Days: Washburn University will host Senior Days on the following Fridays: November 17 and December 1. For more information and to register, visit www.washburn.edu/admissions and click on Ichabod Senior Days.
Discover Bethany Days: Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas will host Discover Bethany Day on Saturday April 14, 2007. For more information, visit www.bethanylb.edu. Registration Deadlines is April 6, 2007.
