Highlight Video Web Site
May 25, 2008
Coach Rich Stephens is proud to announce a new web site that features his Hoxie football teams. Thanks to new software, Stephens is able to manage and edit video recorded at each football game in extraordinary ways.
Before, he would have to burn each video to DVD, re-watch the game while taking handwritten notes, and then debrief his team the next day while once again watching the game in real time. This process would take several hours. Stephens' new software allows him to not only cut his post-game work by more than half, but also opens up more possibilities as well.
With the software he has purchased the coach can download the video directly to his computer. He then watches the game again, this time making audio annotations. He can catalog the entire game by every way imaginable, marking the quarter, possession, down, play, yardage, and even which players are on the field, just to name a few.
When he has finished the software obeys the command of his voice and takes him directly to the point in the game that he specifies. In this way, Stephens doesn't have to fast forward, rewind, or even watch the game straight through when he reviews it with his team. He can touch on only the parts that he feels are important, saving valuable time and strengthening his coaching ability.
Using the same technique of jumping to points in the game Coach Stephens can create highlight reels of the season or for individual players and burn them to DVD or e-mail them to anyone. In addition, he can post them to a web site set up specifically for his team for everyone to view.
The latter is what he has done. Below you can find the link to your Hoxie High School football team's web site. Check it often for updates throughout the season and post-season.
