Reading Deck
This week we took our end of year TOPA (Test of Phonemic Awareness) and Boehm tests. The students did very well.
Math Deck
We are still working with different shapes in our geometry unit. The students are also learning about halves. We also reviewed graphing this week.
Social Studies/Science Deck
In science, we learned a little bit about volcanoes and got to watch some explode.
Events/ Etc…
We had many special activities this week. We had our reward party for our links touching the floor, then on Thursday we celebrated our spring party with pillow case races, three legged races, and May baskets. On Friday, we learned about Cinco de Mayo and celebrated by breaking a piñata and eating Mexican food. A big thanks to the Foote family for sharing Mexican culture and food with us! (We celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Friday, because on Monday the preschool class will be with us for their visitation day and I felt we would have too many students to swing a bat!)
Our school carnival has been postponed until Friday, May 16th.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our graduation ceremony on Monday, May 12th, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
