Two State Champions at KSPA State Contest

Six Hoxie High School Journalism students competed in eight events at the Kansas Scholastic Press Association State Journalism Contest in Lawrence May 2, 2008. Senior Jennifer Heim placed first in Feature Photography for her photos of students "extreme bowling" for a weekend activity photo shoot. She also earned Honorable Mention for Yearbook Theme Development and Graphics. Junior Katelin Neuenschwander placed first in Sports Photography for her track photos.
Other students competing at the State Contest were senior Pat Eland in Yearbook Sportswriting and Newspaper Sportswriting, junior Kendra Spresser in Newspaper Sportswriting, junior Regan Ochs in Cutline (Caption) Writing, and junior Grahm Mahanna in Feature Writing.
All of these students placed at the KSAP Regional Contest in February to earn the right to compete at the State Contest.
