Athletic Trainer

For many years, Hoxie Schools have contracted High Plains Sports Medicine, Hays, to provide outreach athletic training coverage. A Certified Athletic Trainer is available once a week and at varsity football games. The trainer is available for immediate care, assessment, and/or treatment of any athletic injuries. If any injury requires further evaluation, HPSM offers prompt access to highly qualified Physicians and/or Physician Assistants at Hays Orthopaedic Clinic. The joint efforts of HPSM and HOC focus on rehabilitating and reconditioning athletes' injuries for a safe return to competition.
Our trainer is available Monday afternoon from 3:30 - 5:00 pm at the high school and at varsity football games. Our contract also includes Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon walk-in clinics at the Hays Orthopaedic Clinic, where no appointment is necessary. At this time an orthopaedic Physician and/or Physician Assistant will be readily available for consultation. If you have any questions, contact Kathy Schiltz at the high school.
