Jr. High Indians Defeat Goodland Mustangs

The Hoxie Junior High traveled to Goodland to play their second game of the season on Thursday, September 7. The game started with the Indians kicking off. Dillon S. kicked off into Mustang territory. The Mustangs drove to the opposing 19 year line when they were finally stopped by the stifling defense to turnover on downs.
The Indians came out to run the first plays on offense of the game. Quarterback Colton S. handed Dillon S. the ball on the first play to score an 81 yard touchdown. The Indians got the 2-point conversion to make it 8-0. On the next drive, the Indians scored on a 6-yard run by Dylan B. The 2-point conversion failed making it 14-0.
The defense came back on the field for the next Mustang drive. Hoxie held them to a turnover on downs and got the ball back. The Indians drove and lost the ball to a turnover on downs. The Mustangs got the ball back and scored on a 50-yard pass. The Mustangs failed to make the 2-point conversion. The score was now 14-6.
After the kickoff, the Indians started on about the 50-yard line. The Indians drove the ball down to about the 10-yard line. Dylan B. had a 10-yard run to get another Indians touchdown. The 2-point conversion was a success to make the game 22-6. The end of the second quarter was over, to make it halftime. Coach Weiner had a motivational speech.
The Indians came back onto the field after halftime. The Indians had an 81-yard touchdown return by Colton S. Getting the 2-point conversion, it was now 30-6. The kickoff went down the field and the Mustangs drove the ball. The Hoxie Indians played good defense and got the ball back. The 3rd quarter came to an end. The Mustangs lost the ball and the Hoxie offense took over. They drove and wound the clock down. The game was finally over making the Hoxie Indians victorious, 30-6. The Hoxie Junior High Indians are now 2-0. Next, the Indians will host the Colby Eagles.
